Increase your Product Sales and Follower Count through YouTube’s New Shopping Feature

YouTube kicked off its second year of holiday commerce week on November 10, 2022, and it ran until November 19, 2022. It engaged both creators and consumers to get into the holiday spirit through a multi-format shopping event. There’s a 5-day interactive live shopping event, shoppable YouTube Shorts, and video recommendations for gift guides.

These can be accessed through YouTube.com/Shopping where more than 30 creators and brands like MrBeast (110M subs), Simply Nailogical (7.5M subs), Manny MUA (4.8M subs), POPFLEX, Ulta Beauty, and TULA Skincare are collaborating with YouTube for shoppable content.

Creators and business owners will also be able to integrate their Shopify stores into their channels. A new tab will appear across their channel home page, and it will show a grid of the items from their store. Videos will also have the option to put products on the end screens, as well as tag products during live streams or videos. Viewers can now be turned into merchandise buyers faster.

It’s worth noting that more and more social media platforms are integrating commerce into their spaces, and it appears that brands and platforms are continuing to find ways to serve consumer needs directly in this evolving economy.

Are these income-generating strategies on social media effective? Or will they be drowned out by the numerous commerce offerings available across channels? Generally, omnichannel has shown positive results for brands' and businesses' exposure and presence. So, it's best to continue reviewing what works well for you.
